It's cold! It's cold, it's finally cool and crisp and cold and my jacket collection could not be happier, yeay :)

Besides it finally feeling like fall, everything else is good too. :)  I had such a nice, relaxing and fun weekend, hehe, I think that weekends should be 3 days long every week and the work day 4 days. I just think that's a better division and would make people a lot less cranky.

So I googled my name last evening and came across an old xanga page that I didn't even know existed!  It's only two pages long and I guess I wrote on it the last half of my senior year in High School and it was sooo weird to get a look back into my life.  I must say, I think I sounded like such a loser, haha, giving away WAY too much info on a public xanga page and making assertions that were...well, let's just say south of intelligent ;)  Ilya said I sounded like a teenager, I said no, it's worse, I sound like my sister (who I still can't believe is well into her teenage years!)  I thought about deleting it, but I just can't bring myself to get rid of it forever, even if it means that whichever future employer does a google search might read about my thoughts on the casting of Grease (a celebration) or my opinions about the nature of HS dating (that's it's pointless. see, I had some sense at least!)  I know it sounds ridiculous, but it was like reading about a different person that I had some vague things in common with.  I'd forgotten so much of the stuff that I wrote about and was important to me. wow.

So I'm stage managing this new show called "Hello Goodbye Peace" at the BCA for the "Out on the Edge Theater Festival" for The Theater Offensive.  It's really cool actually, because it's not a huge time commitment, provides some nice suplementary pay and gets me involved with some really cool people.  Rehearsal yesterday was like something I"ve never seen.  It's a new work ,a draft really, so after we read through, the actors sat down with the playwright and gave him feedback on his show!  They talked about plot points they would change, what they thought about the action, all of it!  Now, this is pretty amazing, cause not too many playwrights solicit advice from their actors, but the this guy was just really excited to work it out, it was awesome.

Oh, this was last week, but I saw an amazing movie called "Across the Universe". I"m sure people have heard of it, but it's a musical, directed by Julie Taymor (Lion King on Broadway) that consists of all Beatles songs.  I just thought that from the concept, to the performance to the casting, it was really amazing.  Ilya takes great pleasure in telling people how when I like something, such as a performance or a movie, I sit straight up, grin and clap, regardless of how quiet the theater is.  haha, oh well, I am who I am ;)

Also, the night we saw the movie we encountered not one, but TWO emergencies! First, something went wrong at Park St. T and we were stuck in a non-moving cab for 25 minutes trying to get to Lowes Boston Common, and then, once we finally got to the theater (after missing the first 10 minutes or so of the movie) we were evacuated from the building because of a fire!  It was crazy and unbelievable, haha.

So, I just got a new digital camera, so the posting of some pictures is on its way (yeay).

I feel like my like has just changed gears into overdrive, it's just going by so quickly! I really can't believe that Fall is here already (although you wouldn't know it by the disgusting heatwave we've been experiencing here in Boston the past couple of days...) and that I've been graduated and out in the real world since May ;)

Very recently, we've been talking about my job changing at work.  This makes me really excited, because now I am getting to use my degree in Communications more and engage things that I studied in college, where as before I just kinda fell into my job, so it didn't really matter about my Communications background.  As a result of this job addition, I got to go with the Academic Coodinator for the society to a career fair at Suffolk University last evening.  It was so amazing!  The fair was nice as a whole, as Suffolk had really great food there, the table placement was well thought out and organized, and they even gave us little gift bags with Suffolk Merchandise in them :)  As far as students go, I had a really great time getting to listen to their (very well thought out) questions about our student membership, and it was even more exciting when I got to talk to some of them.  I was a little nervous at first, since I'm new and didn't know the answer to all the questions, but I think I really hit my stride and was able to help people and give them a good impression of the society.  The times when our booth was quiet were nice too, as we made friends with Dave, another recruitor and took turns sampling the free prodcuts each firm was giving out.  Who knew that Accounting career fairs were such swag fests, haha.

After the career fair ended around 8:30, I met Ilya and we headed down to the North End, by way of my office so we could walk Barbara (Academic Coodinator) back to her car.  It was fun to introduce him to Jakob, our IT guy in the office who is also from Russian and hear them doing introductions in their shared language.  The night was pretty chill after that, we walked to the North End, spent several hours gabbing over Italian Soda and dessert, and then we headed home.  Although it was dreadfully hot yesterday afternoon, the weather did cool down at night to be quite pleasant to walk in.  Hopefully it won't rain too much tonight so I can take my bike around Cambridge a bit and to the store.

Things today are pretty quiet, but that's good cause the next two days are gonna be crazy, as tomorrow is my dress rehearsal for my Zora show as Saturday is actually the performance! I"m excited and nervous and hope everything goes well.  I can't help but feel like we haven't had very many rehearsals...I guess we'll see, and I have some work to do tonight!

The Office Season 3 premeires tonight!!!

Attention all escalator riders (that includes you, annoying man wearing too much cologne and too-tight suit pants!):  The escalator was invented so people who are either unwilling or unable to hike up a large amount of stairs could choose not to.  The escalator was not invented so you could get your morning workout or get to work quicker.  If you would like to climb, take the stairs, it's that simple people. Now, a vacated escalator is one thing, do whatever you like on your journey up that you please, AS LONG AS IT DOESN"T EFFECT OTHER PEOPLE.  It is everyone's perogative to stand still on an escalator simply because THAT'S WHY IT WAS INVENTED.  Cologne wearing, too tight pants owning man, if I see you push one more person out of the way so you can climb the escalator stairs instead of the real and by the way, less crowded stairs 2 feet away, I will scream, very loudly, and it may contain expletives and/or sexual harassment allegations. I'm just sayin'.

So I'm a little tired today....:)

I was "dragged" (as in, not really) out last night to Jillians for a rousing good time playing pool and bowling.  It's actually a really cute place, and nice and comfortable to hang out in with plush couches and chairs filling in for the normal benches and novelty seating at a bowling alley and pool hall.  The group of us headed into town and upon our exit we ran into about a million Red Sox fans all coming home, so we skipped the T and caught the (very very tightly packed) #1 bus home.  It's nice because everyone lives around the same area, so we can call meet up and walk one another home and it's no biggie.  After the bus ride, we went and played a couple rounds of poker, which, once again, Ilya dominated and his secretly-a-computer self handed us our asses on a platter :) Luckily, we don't really bet with a bunch of money, so no one got cleaned out or anything.

Anyhow, short story long, I got home at 1:30 am and woke up at 7, so I'm a teeensy bit tired.  Although Payal just called and I hear it's 90's night at this place in Harvard Sq., so maybe I"ll throw good judgement to the wind, put on some parachute pants and party like it's 1999....yeah, sorry for that.

So, I"ve had a couple of really good nights lately.  Last night I went with a friend from work to Ikea.  She had rented a zip car and so once we found it (quite the journey let me tell ya!) We went zipping down the road to the magastore.  I love Ikea, even if it is SUPER overwhelming sometimes.  I got just some bed stuff last night, but I took notes about furniture which needs to wait until a. I have more time, b. I have a larger car, and c. all my money for the month hasn't gone to paying rent (blah, btw).  I'm really trying to measure things and get pieces that calm me and reflect my interests.  I don't want to have a room that just looks like it has my stuff it in, which it how I think it looks now.  I want it to look like I live there and that it's an extension of me, as corny as that sounds.  I've given up the (absurd!!) idea that I should get rid of my queen bed for a double.  After some reassuring, I am choosing sleep-filled delight over a bed that actually fits in my room.  So what it I only have a couple of feet between me bed and my far wall right?  I am hoping to make sugnificant strides in planning my room this weekend.  I need to get the idea of painting ok'd by the maintenance man, frame all my artwork and make final decisions about which furniture I'm going to purchase.  Once I"ve done that, I can get down to painting and hanging and organizing (bleh on that part...;))

Tuesday night I hung out with my old roommate Amit, his girfriend Payal and some of their other friends.  It was really nice to just go over, play some poker (my first time!!) and meet and hang out with people.  I don't know if I"ve said it here before, but it's hard to meet people that you can actually hang out with once you're out of school or an equally collective situation.  It's really nice that I've made strides in this area in the past two nights.  Keep it up I hope!

Hopefully I will be getting out of work early today.  Since it's a holiday weekend, I've been told we are usually released a little early.  I"m going to use that time to head over to Newbury St. this afternoon and spend too much money and time at American Apparel and Filene's Basement...yeay.
